The Art Of The Barbershops Of Sierra Leone
The plan was to get from Freetown to Kenema to try visiting a diamond mine. During the six-hour drive (to/from Kenema), I observed the art of the Barbershops and how it expresses its community.
BIO
Maryam has traveled to over 130 countries. Adventure, photography and storytelling illustrates my personality. I am interested in capturing people’s moments and stories around and reflecting them from my own angles. Warzones and conflict areas have a great portion of my attention in photography as they are needed now and to remember how things were when we look back in the future. My photos were used internationally in postcards, travel magazines, adventure books and human development reports.
