St Helena And Ascension – What Are You Waiting For?
Saint Helena and Ascension Islands are a British Overseas Territory located in the South Atlantic. These islands are considered some of the most remote, inhabited islands. Saint Helena is 1,200 miles from Africa, and 1,800 miles from South America. The islands are sparsely populated with less than 5,000 on Saint Helena and less than 1,000 on Ascension. One of Saint Helena’s claim to fame is that Napoleon was exiled to this island by the Brits.
Maurizio will share his journey to St Helena just prior to Covid in 2020. His visit transitioned into a quarantine as Covid fears reached this isolated island and he was quarantined by the government. After his brief quarantine, he was released, met the governor, and took the last flight out of Saint Helena before the island was closed to visitors.
Maurizio will share with you all you need to know to visit these two remote and fascinating islands.
